I will make it my goal to do better each day the task before me and to be steadfast in my belief, in my God, and my fellow Americans. ![]() The TSA Logo Our Community Service ProjectPROBLEMLast year TSA helped the Environmental Science class at Robertsville repair and clean the outdoor classroom we have at our school. DESCRIPTION OF PROBLEMWhen we got down there, we found that the bridge going across the creek had been burned down. The weeds had overgrown. The creek's water was blocked off from flowing by leaves, rocks, and old junk that people had left in there. There was all kinds of trash that people had left in the trees and shrubs, including the handlebars of a bike, baby dolls, underwear, parts cut off from hoses, pants, beer bottles, and more. The trail leading down to the classroom was in really bad condition. The stairs right at the beginning of the trail were delapidated. SOLUTIONTo fix the problem, we rebuilt the bridge across the creek. We trimmed the weeds down to where it was easy to walk around the classroom. We got some rakes and cleared the creek of the rocks, leaves, and old junk. We climbed up to the trees and got rid of the baby dolls and whatever else was up there. We had a huge pile of woodchips on our playground. We shoveled the woodchips into trucks and drove the woodchips over to the beginning of the trail of the classroom. We layed the woodchips on the old trail and this is what made our new trail. We now had a classroom that was up and running again. |
